Paradigm Treatment Centers is thrilled to announce the significant enhancement of its state-of-the-art Alumni Program, which is available for both in-state and out-of-town alumnus. This innovative, multi-faceted program is designed for adolescents who have completed treatment at Paradigm’s residential treatment facilities and who may be in need of some additional support and skills.
Created by Paradigm Malibu Alumni Program Director Siana Walker, the program is a creative initiative that combines mental health, advocacy, community, sustainability, and art. “What we have found is that after discharging from our residential program, our youth have often reported that they miss the culture and care they received during their time at Paradigm,” states Walker. “As a result, we implemented this program with the intention of supplying our residential program graduates with extra support that keeps them on track with their aftercare plans and treatment goals.”
Above and beyond existing Alumni after-care, throughout this 16-week course, participants will be empowered to create a community service project and will visit one of Paradigm’s facilities to present the project at the conclusion of the program. During this visit, alumnus will speak to current Paradigm residents, sharing the work that they created throughout the program, as well as the insights and skills they gained along the way. This dynamic program also includes one 30-minute check-in group call mid-week to assure that participants are staying on track with their progress and to offset any challenges that may be met in process.
As Walker explains, “our intention is to give our alumni the structure and connection they will need as they integrate back into their homes, community and schools. We are excited to provide this additional support and care for our Alumni and looking forward to this new venture.”
