Paradigm’s goal for all teens is that they graduate from Paradigm’s recovery program with an impenetrable knowledge of their worth, so as to ensure a purposeful life. Therapist Kathryn Nuñez, M.A., AMFT, is a tireless guide in leading the teens she treats towards meaningful and lasting recoveries.
As an avid theater aficionado, Kathryn is trained in the healing technique of drama therapy. This therapeutic approach incorporates classic theater techniques to help Paradigm’s teens express emotions through storytelling and role-playing. Kathryn’s treatment style is effective and appreciated by her colleagues for its effectiveness.
“Since the opening of our Young Adult / College-Aged program in Malibu, Kathryn has been a key team member and one of our best therapists. Kathryn brings energy and her passion for the arts into her therapeutic work. Kathryn’s love of drama therapy and her deep desire to help our clients is why we want to acknowledge her this month. Kathryn is always going the extra mile, which is what makes her such an effective therapist,” states Chief Operating Officer Dustin Wagner.
Kathryn Nuñez commits to active and experiential therapy results in the teen residents attaining Paradigm’s overall treatment objectives of positive behavioral changes, improvement in self-awareness, integration of physical and emotional well-being, and improvement in relationship skills. She is dedicated to her work and cares deeply about every teen she treats.
Kathryn’s enthusiasm is infectious and Beach House Deputy Director Philip Wilke has taken notice. “She has a deep passion and love for the clients, displayed by her boundary setting and advocating for them. Kathryn has shown great leadership, not by directing, but through example. The staff and clients have seen this and have trusted and mimicked her qualities of care for others but mostly care for self. Congratulations!” Philip said.
